You couldn't have planned a
more demanding test for T.E.A.M Marina's crew than installing a
new state-of-the-art HVAC system after a rooftop fire at the
Cardiopulmonary Building in Oakland.
As Juanita Matsuoka, coordinator for the major tenant, describes the experience her smile grows bigger and bigger. Marina Mechanical's presence in the pressured office of a group of heart surgeons was a positive experience. Think about it and you've got to wonder: "A fire ...Construction crew ... Surgeons ... Heart patients ... HVAC system destroyed ... Complex installation ... A positive experience for the tenant??? ... Hey, how'd Marina do that!!"
First of all, the work was done with the least possible disruption to the occupants and patients. Juanita describes it in simple human terms, "Kevin, Tom and Tony were so courteous. They would continually check to see if what they were doing conflicted with the needs of our patients, and they were always willing to move to another area. When we had questions, they would explain. In time we grew to know and like each one of them."
But there were a lot more benefits to choosing Marina Mechanical. . .
Marina guaranteed in writing to solve a comfort problem that had given Juanita fits for years. As she puts it, "Part of the suite would be too cold or too hot all of the time. There was no way I could make everyone comfortable." Marina Project Manager Chris Saunders explains, "Juanita's dilemma was shared by every tenant in the building. The building needed an HVAC system capable of simultaneously delivering cool air to the reception areas, warm air to the treatment rooms and something in between to the office staff. We interviewed each tenant to determine exactly what the comfort requirements were for each individual room and work space in the entire building. We then proposed a solution that brought precise temperature control to everyone."
Juanita wasn't misled. We guaranteed performance and that's what she got. The system performs as promised, and we were done ahead of schedule.
Operating the system is extremely easy. To operate this state-of-the-art system all Juanita has to do is adjust already familiar thermostat controls. The computerized energy management system works in the background to manage the complex heating and cooling needs for thirty comfort zones.
The smile on Juanita's face is not accidental. The comfort of patients, doctors and staff had been a major responsibility she could not perform well no matter how hard she tried until Marina gave her complete control at the touch of her finger - guaranteed!
